PREVENTION AND PROTECTION SYSTEM
The prevention and protection service is fundamental to safety in the company.
It helps corporate entities put in place all the procedures that enable them to operate safely.
The Prevention and Protection Service, involves: the employer, the competent doctor, the Workers’ Safety Representative, the Prevention and Protection Service Manager, trained personnel (fire and first aid officers), all workers and any outside consultants.
A figure from inside or outside the company can be appointed to the function of prevention and protection service manager.
There are cases provided by law in which the employer can cover the role of RSPP, Art. 34 of Legislative Decree 81/08, while instead when the roles do not coincide and directly the employer who appoints the RSPP, Art.17 of Legislative Decree 81/08.
The Prevention and Protection Service has an advisory function, that is, it has the task of supporting and empowering the employer to fulfill its obligations of preventive guarantee, by virtue of its knowledge of the company organization and its technical expertise.
